Baby Boomers "Call to Action"

12/10/2019

According to AARP, “poll conducted by Edge Research on behalf of the Blackbaud Institute for Philanthropic Impact, revealed that boomer contributors gave $58.6 billion to nonprofits last year, with the average boomer benefactor giving $1,061. Boomer donors on average contribute to four charities.

Boomer giving has fallen slightly in recent years, from an average $1,212 in 2013, when the generation accounted for 43% of charitable donations. But 60% of boomer donors said their level of giving will stay the same next year, while another 12% said it will increase.

The Institute’s report notes that the average American charitable donor is age 64, which suggests that boomers will remain the biggest source of charitable dollars for the next few years.

Thirty-five percent of boomers make contributions through charity websites. Some 27% give by mail, while 11% use social media websites to make contributions. Three percent give via text messaging.

Fifty-two percent of boomers think they make their biggest positive impact on worthy causes by giving money, while others see volunteering (19%) and raising visibility through word of mouth (8%) as the way to make the biggest difference.”

Hello friends and supporters of the
Fallbrook Food Pantry!

Many of you attended the 2019 charity event on May 17th at Pala Mesa Resort. It was such a great time! If you couldn’t attend, we hope that you will save the date and join with us next year on
May 15th at Pala Mesa Resort for our 6th annual event.

Our 5th annual event had tremendous success. We had more corporate sponsors, golfers and dinner guests. We raised more funds than at our 2018 event supporting the Fallbrook Food Pantry. We had amazing trips that were auctioned off at amazing prices. Our only disappointment was that a couple high bidders decided to back out afterwards, which put us in a bad position and affected our fundraising effort. While it was a huge disappointment, we have figured out a way to turn lemons into lemonade. Could you use an elite all-inclusive vacation in the Caribbean? By purchasing a vacation, you would be also feeding 100 families for a month! It will be a win-win for you, 100 families in Fallbrook, and the Fallbrook Food Pantry that works so hard to serve families, children
and seniors who rely on their support.

A resort company that helps us secure amazing travel for our auction, has graciously provided us with 6 additional trips that we can offer at a greatly reduced price of $1000 each. All these trips are for a one-week stay for two people. They can be used anytime between now and December 31, 2020, subject to the resort’s availability. They have all-inclusive fees per day per person, for which recipients will be responsible. The all-inclusive fees vary based on resort and dates of travel. The all-inclusive fee
provides all food, snacks, beverages including alcohol,
resort activities, service charges and gratuities.

Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. We are looking for supporters who will purchase any one of the resort vacations listed below for $1,000. That works out to less than $150 per night! That’s incredible! This is not an auction. It’s first come – first served and you will be purchasing a relaxing week in the Caribbean. Think white sand beaches and turquoise water! When you book your reservation, the resort will take a deposit toward the
additional all-inclusive fee.

Below are 6 wonderful white sand vacations from which to choose.
• Palm Island Resort and Spa, The Grenadines. An Exclusive Private Island, Adults-Only, beach-front accommodations.
A 2017 Conde’ Nast Award Winner.
• St. James Club, Antigua. Enjoy 7 to 9 nights, beachfront accommodations, for everyone. A 2017 TripAdvisor,
Certificate of Excellence Award Winner.
• The Club Barbados Resort and Spa. Enjoy 7 to 10 nights, one-bedroom suite accommodations, adults-only resort and spa.
• Pineapple Beach Club, Antigua. Enjoy 7 to 10 nights, beachfront accommodations, adults-only. A 2017 TripAdvisor,
Certificate of Excellence Award Winner.
• St. James Club at Morgan Bay, St. Lucia. Enjoy 7 to 10 nights of beachfront accommodations, for everyone.
A 2018 TripAdvisor, Travelers’ Choice Award Winner.
• The Verandah Resort and Spa, Antigua. Enjoy 7 to 9 nights of resort waterfront accommodations for everyone.
An eco-friendly beachfront resort. A 2017 TripAdvisor,
Certificate of Excellence Award Winner.

If none of these work for you, a simple donation to the Fallbrook Food Pantry would be greatly appreciated. We are certain that there are many of you who will jump at the chance to restore these charitable funds to the Fallbrook Food Pantry
while enjoying white sandy beaches!
Please call Kim Murphy at (760) 415-9292 to purchase your exotic get-a-way to any
of
these breathtaking resorts.
We will accept check, Visa or MasterCard.

With heartfelt thanks,
Chris & Kim Murphy

Hello and Happy New Year
Fallbrook Food Pantry
Friends and Family!

Welcome to our blog...

"Nourishing the Soul"

Where you will read and learn about nutrition, fitness, community
programs, and health and wellness; along with
meaningful topics about our
passion and purpose.

Making a difference in a child's life...
Making a difference in the lives of those who are in-need is rewarding work, however, sometimes it can take decades before that impact is fully realized. One such example came from a young man, who was honorably discharged from the military--and now a college student completing a service learning project required through his studies, selected FFP because he remembered receiving holiday meals and Christmas presents as a child through our programs. Not knowing at the time that his mother also received groceries from the pantry while he was a child, which helped keep them fed--giving him the energy to study in school, he now could volunteer to serve others through the same organization that assisted his family in their time of need many years before. This not only satisfied his course requirements but it also sparked his desire to give back and show his gratitude by
helping other families get back on their feet, too.

GET INVOLVED...Do something BIGGER than YOURSELF...
Little Emily is one of our kiddos whose family depends on receiving nutritious food from our pantry. Not only do we take pride in our services but especially the food we provide our families in-need with. A good healthy diet is imperative for everyone...starting the day off right with a nutrient dense meal keeps our brain and vital organs functioning properly...and we all know that this is essential for
the growth of children. Here's to "food for thought"...

Our New Look...The pantry has spent the last few months going through a transformation! We are devoted to our community...and to all who embrace our mission and vision. The Fallbrook Food Pantry deserves the same kind of love and attention as our clients do...so, we decided to pamper
ourselves and ring in the New Year with a fresh new look...a brand that can
be spotted and recognized from miles away.

If you are looking to get involved in a BIG way--with a non-profit that cares deeply about its clients, donors, volunteers and sponsors--then you may want to consider partnering up with FFP. We
offer Corporate Sponsorships that provide your organization with the opportunity to
really make a difference in the lives of those who need it most!
Together, we can positively impact our community--
one hungry family at a time.

GET INVOLVED TODAY!
